The Pitt is MAX's latest original drama focusing on the high-octave action within the emergency room of Pittsburgh Trauma Medical Hospital. Noah Wyle returns to television and leads the ensemble cast as Dr. Michael "Robby" Rabinavitch. The 15 episode series covers one hour of a single 15-hour emergency room visit in each episode and premiers exclusively on MAX on January 9 with 2 episodes. New episodes will be released every Thursday through its season finale on April 10.

Wyle, best known as John Carter on NBC's award-winning "ER," became a household name and now steps into the new but familiar role as a second skin. In the first episode, Robinavitch quips at the new interns he has to oversee, and that's because he's having a rough day, but Robby is always having a rough day for every shift depicted in the series trying to save the life of every person that steps into the ER. Whether it's someone going into cardiac arrest or bleeding out, the logline promises a realistic examination of the challenges facing healthcare workers in today's America as seen through the lens of the frontline heroes working in a modern-day hospital.

Created and executive produced by R. Scott Gemmill, Wyle also serves as an executive producer alongside John Wells, who has produced and executive produced some of television's best hits, including ERThird WatchThe West WingSouthlandShameless, and Animal Kingdom. Production companies include Warner Bros. Television and John Wells Productions.

The series stars:

  • Noah Wyle as Dr. Michael "Robby" Rabinavitch

  • Tracy Ifeachor as Dr. Collins

  • Patrick Ball as Dr. Langdon

  • Supriya Ganesh as Dr. Mohan

  • Fiona Dourif as Dr. McKay

  • Taylor Dearden as Dr. King

  • Isa Briones as Dr. Santos

  • Gerran Howell as Whitaker

  • Shabana Azeez as Javad

  • Katherine LaNasa as Dana Evan

Personal crises and workplace politics are also at the forefront of this highly charged series as the ensemble cast each brings their own drama. Wyle shines as the empathetic but weary doctor who's literally seen it all as he battles with his own scars, having lost his own mentor while trying to mentor the newest crop of interns.

The Pitt is a fantastic series that provides a realistic portrayal of the trauma within the ER while depicting genuine emotion through personal interactions as the drama to save each life unfolds.

The first two episodes are currently streaming on MAX.
