The Girl of Steel is officially coming home! DC Studios’ Supergirl begins streaming on HBO Max September 10, giving fans a chance to experience Milly Alcock’s bold take on Kara Zor-El from the comfort of their couch.
Directed by Craig Gillespie and written by Ana Nogueira, Supergirl takes Kara far beyond Metropolis and into an intergalactic adventure filled with revenge, danger and plenty of superhero chaos. This isn’t simply Superman’s cousin stepping into the spotlight. Kara gets her own story, her own attitude and a mission that pushes her to confront loss, anger and what it really means to be a hero.
And she won’t be doing it alone. Jason Momoa joins the DC Universe as the unpredictable bounty hunter Lobo, while Eve Ridley plays Ruthye and Matthias Schoenaerts stars as Krem. David Corenswet also returns as Superman, while everyone’s favorite super powered pup, Krypto, adds some much needed four-legged chaos to the adventure.
Based on Supergirl: Woman of Tomorrow, the film gives Kara a fresh chapter in the expanding DC Universe while putting her firmly at the center of the story. With Alcock leading the charge, Lobo causing trouble and Krypto stealing scenes, Supergirl is the kind of superhero ride that doesn’t take the predictable route.
So grab the popcorn and get ready because Supergirl lands on HBO Max September 10.
