Stick is the heartwarming and hilarious new sports comedy series, ala Ted Lasso and Happy Gilmore. The show stars Owen Wilson, who also serves as executive producer, as Pryce Cahill, an aging ex-pro golfer whose career was prematurely cut short 20 years ago. Pryce discovers a new purpose and a chance for redemption when he takes a talented yet troubled young golfer, Santi Wheeler (Peter Dager), under his wing.
Created by Jason Keller and directed by Jonathan Dayton and Valerie Faris, Wilson has never been better as the self-brooding, once famed golfing superstar whose life imploded after a very public meltdown during a tournament ending his once promising career. Now he spends his glory-less days hustling for cash in an Indiana sporting goods store while dealing with relationship issues with his ex wife. Let's just say he welcomes the possibility of finding new meaning in his young protege and sets out to convince Wheeler's mother, in addition to bringing his best friend, Mitts (Marc Maron), along for the ride.

In addition to Wilson and Dager, the ensemble cast includes Mariana Treviño, Lilli Kay, Judy Greer, and Timothy Olyphant, with guest appearances from golf superstars Collin Morikawa, Keegan Bradley, Max Homa, Wyndham Clark, and numerous other high profile cameos giving this feel good comedy the meat that it needs to be golf relevant.
Funny and blissfully charming while touching on years of regret and self-doubt, Owens has long carved a niche for himself in portraying the endearing underdog. Supported by a well-rounded ensemble cast of characters, adding the right dose of cynicism and hilarity, the series finds the perfect balance, focusing on the love of family, sports, and relationships.
The first three episodes of "Stick" are available on Apple TV+, with new episodes released every Wednesday through its finale on July 23.
