Fans of the critically acclaimed culinary drama The Bear are preparing to say goodbye. FX officially confirmed on Wednesday, May 6, that the upcoming fifth season of the Emmy-winning hit will also serve as the show’s final season.
The announcement marks the end of one of television’s most celebrated series in recent years, with the intense kitchen drama earning widespread acclaim for its emotional storylines, standout performances, and anxiety-inducing realism. Since its debut, The Bear has become a cultural phenomenon, turning its chaotic Chicago restaurant setting into must-see TV and collecting countless awards along the way.
FX also revealed that Season 5 will premiere on June 25 with all eight episodes releasing simultaneously on Hulu. Unlike previous seasons that experimented with staggered rollouts, the final chapter will be fully bingeable from day one. Episodes will begin streaming at 6 p.m. PT / 9 p.m. ET.
Led by Jeremy Allen White as the troubled but brilliant chef Carmy Berzatto, the series also stars Ayo Edebiri, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, and Lionel Boyce. Across four seasons, the show evolved from a gritty kitchen drama into an emotional exploration of ambition, grief, family, and personal sacrifice.
The decision to conclude the series with Season 5 signals a definitive ending for Carmy and the restaurant crew, giving the creative team an opportunity to close the story on their own terms. While plot details for the final season remain tightly under wraps, anticipation is already building for what promises to be an emotional farewell.
Since premiering in 2022, The Bear has consistently dominated awards conversations, winning multiple Emmys, including Outstanding Comedy Series and acting honors for White, Edebiri, and Moss-Bachrach. The show’s unique blend of rapid fire dialogue, emotional vulnerability, and high-pressure kitchen chaos helped redefine the modern television comedy-drama genre.
With all episodes dropping at once, fans will have the chance to experience the entire final season in one sitting as FX brings one of its defining series to a close this summer.
All previous seasons 1-4 are streaming now on Hulu.
