Grab your sunglasses, because Baywatch is heading back to the beach! FOX has dropped a new trailer for its upcoming reboot, and the iconic lifeguard franchise is getting another shot at making waves when it arrives in January.
Watch the trailer below:
This time around, Stephen Amell (Arrow) takes the lead as Hobie Buchannon, with a new crew of lifeguards ready to tackle dangerous rescues, complicated relationships and whatever else comes with spending your days saving lives under the California sun. The cast also includes Jessica Belkin as Charlie Vale, Shay Mitchell as Trina, Hassie Harrison as Nat, Thaddeus LaGrone as Brad, Noah Beck as Luke and Brooks Nader as Selene.
For longtime fans, there's a familiar face waiting on the shoreline. David Chokachi is returning as Cody Madison, bringing a little piece of the original series into this new chapter. Honestly, seeing a familiar Baywatch face back in action is a nice touch for anyone who grew up watching the show. It's been a long time since Baywatch first hit television in 1989, but the franchise left a lasting mark on pop culture. It became a worldwide sensation, reaching audiences in more than 200 countries and making those red swimsuits practically synonymous with beachside heroics.
The reboot has some big waves to make, but there's plenty of room for a new generation of lifeguards to leave their mark. Per the official logline, fans can expect "all the adrenaline-fueled rescues, tangled relationships, complicated chemistry and beachside heroics that defined the original — now with an entirely new cast, contemporary trappings, tensions and challenges, and a renewed mission to protect Southern California’s shoreline."
Baywatch arrives on FOX in January.
