Josh Holloway is back on television in MAX's new series, Duster, a high-octane, action-packed drama set in the 1970s that premiered on May 15.
The series comes from Emmy winner J.J. Abrams (Star Trek) and showrunner LaToya Morgan (Shameless), reuniting Holloway and Abrams from the hit series Lost, which debuted over 20 years ago. Duster takes its name from the iconic muscle cars of the 1970s and promises plenty of action, suspense, and thrills across its eight episodes. New episodes will be released weekly until the season finale on July 3.
Set in the 1970s Southwest, Duster follows Jim (Josh Holloway), a gutsy getaway driver for the Phoenix mob and a growing crime syndicate that goes from dangerous to explosive. Nina Hayes, portrayed by a feisty Rachel Hilson, is the FBI's rookie agent and the first black female agent who has everything to prove, confronting sexism and racism in the bureau and sets her sights on taking Jim's crime family down. It's off to the races as sparks fly in more ways than one as the chemistry between Holloway and Hayes anchors the series in a fun, magnetic payoff.

The series stars:
Josh Holloway as Jim Ellis
Rachel Hilson as Nina Hayes
Keith David as Ezra Saxton
Sydney Elisabeth as Genesis Saxton
Greg Grunberg as Nathan Abbott
Camille Guaty as Izzy Reyna
Asivak Koostachin as Awan Bitsui
Adriana Aluna Martinez as Luna
Benjamin Charles Watson as Royce Saxton
The series is sleek, backed by its 1970s ambiance of cool cars and impressive car stunts, setting the pace for a wild roller coaster ride with great performances, especially by an exceptional Keith David as an Al Capone Ezra Saxton. The series shines with its flashy elements and has moments of depth when the show takes on serious subject matters, tackling racism, equality, and sexism. Halloway delivers a smooth, charismatic performance showcasing a heart of gold beneath the tough, calculated exterior that is both engaging and endearing. Together with Hilson, they're the dynamic, unconventional duo that truly makes the series shine.
The first episode of Duster is currently streaming on Max, with new episodes released every Thursday.
