Hulu's new salacious drama, All's Fair, proves that regardless of overwhelming negative reviews and a 0% debut on Rotten Tomatoes, when fans love a product, they do not care about the opinions of critics.
The new drama is created by Ryan Murphy, the Emmy-winning producer who gave us hits such as Glee and American Horror Story, and is led by Kim Kardashian - yes, that Kim Kardashian and stars an ensemble cast of powerful women. The series became an instant hit, resonating with viewers, and giving Hulu its best streaming numbers for a scripted show in three years, drawing 3.2 million views within its first three days of release.
All's Fair is described as a courtroom drama that teases high-profile breakups, scandals, and alliances that turn faster than a legal ruling. It premiered exclusively on Hulu and Disney+ on November 4, with the first three of its nine episodes with weekly rollouts every Tuesday through the season finale on December 9.
A team of female divorce attorneys leave a male-dominated firm to open their own powerhouse practice. Fierce, brilliant, and emotionally complicated, they navigate high-stakes breakups, scandalous secrets, and shifting allegiances — both in the courtroom and within their own ranks. In a world where money talks and love is a battleground, these women don't just play the game — they change it.
Let's meet the cast:
Allura Grant (Kim Kardashian): Determined, empathetic, and ambitious.
Liberty Ronson (Naomi Watts): Relentless with a sharp sense of humor.
Emerald Greene (Niecy Nash-Betts): Former L.A. cop turned investigator, devoted to family.
Dina Standish (Glenn Close): Queen of the legal world and mentor to the team.
Milan (Teyana Taylor): Aspiring lawyer under Allura's wing.
Carrington "Carr" Lane (Sarah Paulson): Brilliant yet abrasive, with ambition that often eclipses relationships.
The most striking thing about this highly entertaining series is the all-star cast, complete with guest appearances by some of Hollywood's elite. Each episode is sprinkled with famous celebrities, and who doesn't love a good scandal that hits right on the nose? Murphy has crafted each character tailor-made with impeccable fashion sense, straight out of Vogue, showcasing an envious, luxurious lifestyle. Simply put, it's one of the most entertaining, binge worthy, and scandalous series currently streaming.
Is it Emmy worthy? Of course not. It's campy, juicy, scandalous entertainment filled with beautiful faces and driven by female empowerment. Each character is distinct and brings their own unique flavor while serving justice for their hapless celebrity clients with smug satisfaction, knowing they're the absolute best at what they do. It's a win-win for them and for us, the viewers, enjoying the newest guilty pleasure.
Most of the cast, including Kardashian, has a producer credit, which actually benefits the characters. It almost feels like you're watching an exaggerated version of themselves. All's Fair is pure soap opera. It's unapologetically campy with larger than life, over the top characters living their best, unfiltered lives and it's worth the watch.
The first three episodes of "All's Fair" are streaming now on Hulu.
Anthony Hemingway executive produces and directs. Kris Jenner, Alexis Martin Woodall, Eric Kovtun, Scott Robertson, and Nissa Diederich also serve as executive producers.
