Review: 'King of the Hill' Season 15 Delivers One of the Series' Best Comebacks

For nearly three decades, King of the Hill has remained one of television's most beloved animated comedies. Now, after its successful revival, the Hill family is back once again and Season 15 proves this series still has plenty of propane left in the tank.
All 10 episodes of Season 15 are now streaming on Hulu and Disney+, giving longtime fans the perfect excuse to spend a weekend back in Arlen, Texas. While nostalgia certainly plays a role, this new season doesn't rely on the past, instead, it confidently builds on everything audiences loved while delivering fresh laughs, heartfelt moments, and clever observations.
The series continues to follow everyone's favorite Texas couple, Hank Hill (Mike Judge) and Peggy Hill (Kathy Najimy). After spending time in Saudi Arabia, the pair have settled back into retirement on Rainey Street, only to discover that life in Arlen is just as unpredictable as ever. Whether it's trying to keep their quirky neighbors from spiraling into complete chaos or adjusting to the ever changing world around them, Hank's unwavering commitment to common sense continues to be comedy gold.
Of course, no King of the Hill season would be complete without Bobby Hill. Now fully grown, Bobby has traded teenage awkwardness for the fast-paced world of professional cooking, serving as head chef at Robata Chane in Dallas. While balancing the pressures of entrepreneurship, he also finds himself reconnecting with someone fans know well, his childhood friend Connie Souphanousinphone, who is now his girlfriend.
The season wastes no time throwing viewers back into the wonderfully mundane problems that somehow become hilariously important in Arlen. The opening episodes revolve around an electric truck mysteriously parked outside Hank and Peggy's house. For most people, it wouldn't be much of an issue. For Hank Hill, it's practically a neighborhood crisis. The mere possibility that someone might mistake him for the owner of an electric vehicle sends him into classic Hank mode, creating exactly the kind of character driven comedy that has always made the series so special.
Meanwhile, Hank and Peggy's newest family member quickly steals scenes throughout the season. Their rescue dog, appropriately named Caesar Salad, arrives with paperwork claiming he's only two years old, however the elderly pup comes with an endless list of health concerns, turning what they expected to be a simple adoption into another hilarious chapter of retirement life.
The returning voice cast effortlessly slips back into these iconic roles, making it feel as though they never left. If you enjoyed Season 14, Season 15 raises the bar even higher. Rather than simply revisiting Arlen, this season proves there's still plenty of life, and plenty of laughs, waiting on Rainey Street.
Whether you've been watching since 1997 or you're discovering the Hill family for the first time, Season 15 is an easy recommendation. It's funny, heartfelt, refreshingly grounded, and serves as another reminder that sometimes the most entertaining stories come from ordinary people living ordinary lives.
