Hulu has officially renewed The Testaments for a second season, ensuring that the latest chapter of The Handmaid’s Tale universe will continue beyond its debut run.

The renewal arrives before the season one finale, a strong sign that Hulu sees long term potential in the series and the expanding world created by Margaret Atwood. While The Handmaid’s Tale introduced viewers to the terrifying reality of Gilead through June Osborne’s perspective, The Testaments took a different approach by focusing on the lives of those who have grown up inside the system.

Based on Atwood’s bestselling sequel novel and developed by Bruce Miller, the series follows Agnes and Daisy, two young women whose lives are connected by secrets and truths that could alter their futures forever. Set years after the events of The Handmaid’s Tale, the story explores identity, power, and resistance through a younger generation that sees Gilead in a very different way.

The new series expands the mythology while offering fresh perspectives within a familiar world as viewers discover new characters, new conflicts, and new questions about what the future of Gilead may look like.

Led by Chase Infiniti, Lucy Halliday, Ann Dowd, Rowan Blanchard, Mabel Li, and Mattea Conforti with Elisabeth Moss serving as executive producer,

the world of The Handmaid’s Tale may be evolving, but it clearly isn't saying goodbye anytime soon.

The Testaments is streaming now on Hulu.
