Bigger, badder, and more explosive, Peacock's high-octane series "Twisted Metal" delivers a wild adrenaline rush in its second season. The highly anticipated season, starring Anthony Mackie, premiered today, July 31, with the release of three of its twelve episodes. Subsequent episodes will be released every Thursday through the season finale on August 28, 2025.

Adapted from the hit PlayStation game series by the same name in conjunction with Sony Pictures Television, the action-comedy series is developed by Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick, the writers behind "Deadpool" and follows professional delivery driver John Doe, an amnesiac milkman, trying to survive in a post-apocalyptic world where denizens rule with violence and brutality in their signature vehicles.

Season two picks up after the events of season 1, where John Doe is now living behind a protected walled city and Quiet (Stephanie Beatriz) has found new friends in the all female group the Dolls. Both are caught up in the dangerous demolition tournament hosted by the sinister Calypso, where the best drivers in the country come together to compete to the death for the chance to be granted their heart's desire if they win.

If you thought Season 1 was crazy, Season 2 is delightfully crazier, paying homage to the game in a full blown love affair that will make every avid gamer scream. Familiar faces return, and several fan-favorite characters are introduced from the original video games, including Axel, Dollface, Mr. Grimm, and Vermin. "Sweet Tooth," the ice cream-driving, iconic killer clown, continues to bring his own brand of terror, more outlandish and diabolical in season 2, with Samoa Joe and Will Arnett bringing the character to life.

In addition to Mackie and Beatriz, the cast includes Anthony Carrigan, Mike Mitchell, Saylor Bell Curda, Patty Guggenheim, Tiana Okoye, Richard De Klerk, Michael James Shaw, and Lisa Gilroy.

The official synopsis reveals that as they try to survive an onslaught of dangerous new foes and familiar faces alike, including the murderous clown Sweet Tooth, things get complicated for John when he reunites with his long-lost sister, the vigilante Dollface.

You do not have to be an avid gamer to be caught up in the world of "Twisted Metal", but extra cool points if you are. The series is wicked fun, featuring high-voltage action, dark humor, genuine comedy, and unpredictable mayhem that makes the series super cool and distinctly different.

The first three episodes of Twisted Metal are now available exclusively on Peacock. Catch the first season also streaming on Peacock.
