Peacock has unveiled the official trailer for “Crystal Lake,” the highly anticipated horror series from A24 and creator Brad Caleb Kane, starring Emmy-nominated actress Linda Cardellini as Pamela Voorhees, the mother of one of horror’s most infamous legends, Jason Voorhees.
Set against the haunting mythology of the iconic Friday the 13th universe, “Crystal Lake” digs deeper into the woman behind the legend, giving audiences a closer look at Pamela Voorhees and the events that helped shape her terrifying destiny. Rather than simply revisiting familiar horror territory, the series promises to explore Pamela’s life, her relationship with her son Jason, and the devastating tragedy that ultimately transforms her world.
The newly released trailer offers a disturbing glimpse moving between Pamela’s life before tragedy and the darkness that follows. As her connection to Jason becomes increasingly complicated, grief, desperation and rage begin colliding in ways that could forever change the history of Crystal Lake.
Cardellini steps into the role of Pamela with a performance that looks poised to give the legendary character a new emotional dimension. The series also stars William Catlett as Levon Brooks, alongside Devin Kessler as Briana Brooks, Cameron Scoggins as Dorf, Gwendolyn Sundstrom as Grace, and Callum Vinson as young Jason Voorhees.
With Brad Caleb Kane serving as creator, writer, showrunner and executive producer, “Crystal Lake” reopens the mythology and takes a stab at one of the genre’s most recognizable stories through a modern lens.
All episodes of “Crystal Lake” premiere October 15 on Peacock.
