The Minions are back, and this time, their latest big idea could spell trouble for the entire world. Minions & Monsters, the newest animated adventure from Illumination, makes its streaming debut today, bringing the lovable yellow troublemakers into 1920s Hollywood for a story packed with laughs, movie making mishaps, and monsters that are a little too real.
Set during Hollywood’s early days, the film follows James, Henry, Ed, and their fellow Minions as they discover the excitement of the movie business. After finding fame on the big screen, the Minions get a taste of the celebrity lifestyle, but their time in the spotlight takes a turn when talking pictures change the industry and their signature Minionese becomes a problem. Instead of accepting that their Hollywood days might be over, James and Henry come up with a new plan to get back on top by making a monster movie of their own.

Of course, nothing involving the Minions ever goes quite as planned. When James and Henry use a spellbook once belonging to an evil sorcerer to bring their movie monsters to life, their creative experiment quickly becomes a full-blown disaster. Suddenly, the creatures they hoped would make their film a hit are running loose in the real world, leaving the Minions with a much bigger problem than finding their next starring role. Now, they must figure out how to stop the monsters before their little movie project turns into a catastrophe for everyone.
The fun comes from watching the Minions chase their dreams with the same enthusiasm they bring to everything else, even when they have absolutely no idea what they're doing. James and Henry's determination to make it in Hollywood sets the adventure in motion, while Ed brings his own personality to the group, communicating through Minionese sign language. Their latest scheme puts their friendship, teamwork, and problem-solving skills to the test, proving that even the smallest characters can find themselves in some seriously big trouble.

The voice cast features Pierre Coffin as the Minions, with Trey Parker as Goomi, Allison Janney as Olivia, Christoph Waltz as Max, Jesse Eisenberg as Dort, Jeff Bridges as Frank and Elwood, Zoey Deutch as Debbie, and Bobby Moynihan as Phillips. Directed by Pierre Coffin and written by Brian Lynch and Coffin, Minions & Monsters combines the franchise's familiar physical comedy with a playful take on classic monster movies and the early days of Hollywood.
This fun adventure is a perfect pick for movie night. The Minions' ridiculous antics, the unexpected monster encounters, and their determination to turn a terrible situation around give the story plenty of room for comedy and family fun. The 1920s setting also adds something different to the franchise, bringing old Hollywood glamour into a world where mischievous yellow characters and supernatural creatures are a recipe for complete mayhem.
Whether you're watching with the family, catching up on the latest Minions adventure, or simply looking for something funny to enjoy during Halloween week, Minions & Monsters delivers a colorful mix of comedy, friendship, and monster-sized madness. The Minions might have started out wanting to make a hit movie, but their biggest challenge will be cleaning up the mess they create along the way.
Minions & Monsters begins streaming on Peacock October 28.
