The 76th annual Emmy Awards, where the best in Primetime television shows are honored, was hosted by the father-son duo Eugene and Dan Levy, who hosted this year's event with plenty of laughs. Hosted from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles, the star-studded ceremony was held on September 15, 2024. There were plenty of first-time winners taking home the prestigious award. "Shogun," along with "Baby Reindeer" and "The Bear," dominated with impressive wins.  Memorable reunions highlighted in the ceremony were "Happy Days," "The West Wing," and "Schitt's Creek."

"Shogun" won best drama series, and "Hacks" won best comedy series, beating "The Bear" in a surprise upset. In historical moments, Anna Sawai and Hiroyuki Sanada were the first Japanese actors to win in their respective categories for "Shogun." Liza Colón-Zayas won for best supporting actress in a comedy for her role in "The Bear", making her the first Latina actress to win the award.

The Walt Disney Company won a record-breaking 60 wins across its platforms. FX also broke records by beating its own with 36 wins, including "Shōgun," which took home a whopping 19 wins and was the most-nominated series of the year. HBO/Max had 14 wins, Apple TV+ 10 wins, Disney+ 7 wins, Hulu 7 wins, ABC 7 wins, NBC 7 wins, CBS 5 wins, Amazon 4 wins, and Peacock 3 wins.
