Terror Comes Knocking: The Marcela Borges Story is Lifetime's newest thriller inspired by true events and tells the terrifying story of Marcela's home invasion when four masked intruders invade her suburban home demanding $200,000 and holds her and her family hostage. The gripping movie premiered on Lifetime on January 11.

Written by Crystal Verge and directed by Felipe Rodriguez, with Jeff Vanderwal serving as executive producer, Terror Comes Knocking stars Dascha Polanco (Orange Is the New Black) in the title role. The move is part of Lifetime's "Ripped from the Headlines" series and dramatizes the true story of Marcela Borges, who, in 2009, while pregnant, faced the brutality of four masked intruders who terrorized her, her husband Rubens Laureano Morais, and their 5-year-old son Ryan for three days in their Florida home. With no access to the $200,000 her masked captors are demanding, Marcela must courageously act quickly to protect her family.

The movie stars Dascha Polanco as Marcela Borges, Johnathan Sousa as Rubens Laureano Morais, and Alessio Andrada as Ryan. Additional cast members include Nisa Gunduz, Marisa McIntyre, Ivan Lopez, Jorge Molina, Ema Ines, Mario Lopez, and Mitchell Jaramillo.

The movie depicts the terrifying moments of Marcela and her family's home invasion as she bravely tries to outwit her captors to protect her family. The stakes get higher as the violence and torture escalate when her captors get more desperate, forcing Marcela to act while facing insurmountable pressure. This gripping story showcases Marcela's bravery and strength as she goes to extreme lengths to survive when one wrong move can end in fatal consequences.

Terror Comes Knocking: The Marcela Borges Story is available to stream on MyLifetime.com beginning Sunday, January 12.
