Lifetime's newest thriller, "Taken at a Basketball Game," follows Wayne Edwards, whose worst nightmare is confirmed when his daughter is kidnapped at a basketball game. The film, a part of Lifetime's Original "Ripped from the Headlines" series, premieres tonight at 8 EST.

Inspired by real events. Desperate to bond with his estranged 18-year-old daughter Robyn (Claire Qute), Wayne Edwards (D.B. Woodside) gets them tickets to a basketball game where he envisions them cheering on their favorite team while they reconnect. However, when Robyn goes to the restroom and doesn't return, Wayne's worst fear is confirmed when he realizes she's been kidnapped. On a mission to find her in a stadium filled with thousands of people, he races against the clock and will stop at nothing to find her before it is too late.

Written by Richard Blaney and Gregory Small and directed by Ruba Nadda, additional cast includes Moni Ogunsuyi as Splendid, Megan Hutchings as Donna, Claire Qute as Robyn, Duff Zayonce as Lucas, Reamonn Joshee as Dante and L.A. Sweeney as Pam.

In this intense crime thriller, every parent's worst nightmare comes to life when their child is kidnapped. With phenomenal acting by Woodside who portrays a father's desperation to find his daughter, this dramatic film highlights the dangers of predators preying on innocent children. Edwards, a former cop, taps into his natural instincts and goes to the police seeking help, but they are unconvinced that she was kidnapped. Knowing his daughter, Edwards takes matters into his own hands and will stop at nothing to find her and bring her back home.

"Taken at a Basketball Game" is an intense, gripping movie that parents will appreciate. In the United States alone, approximately 4,600 children are abducted by strangers each year. With child predation at an all-time high, this movie, inspired by true events, reminds us that we must always stay vigilant.

Taken at a Basketball Game premiers tonight on Lifetime at 8 pm EST and is available to stream the following day on their website.
