The explosive fourth season of "Raising Kanan" returned exclusively on STARZ on March 7 and fans were in for a surprise as the premiere had social media buzzing. The third season's finale shocked viewers with two unexpected deaths and despite being presumed dead, Kadeem "Unique" Mathis reappears, setting the stage for new conflicts and alliances in the upcoming season. This season carries 10 episodes, with new episodes released every Friday through its season final on May 9.
The series, a prequel to the hit series "Power," follows a young Kanan Stark (initially played by Curtis "50 cents" Jackson" in the original series) in 1980s Jamaica, Queens, involved in his family's drug business and on the rise, growing his drug empire and becoming the biggest criminal in New York. Off the heels of the explosive third season, which saw Kanan and his mother, Raquel "Raq" Thomas, in an epic showdown, the premiere episode revealed that Raq discovered she was pregnant with Unique's baby and decided to get an abortion.
"Raising Kanan" is created by Sascha Penn and executive produced by Courtney Kemp, Curtis Jackson, Mark Canton, Chris Selak, and Kevin Fox with Lionsgate and CBS Studios producing.

The official synopsis for the season reveals a more confident Kanan continues to step out of his mother's shadow as she questions if she can trust her son and business partner. The two continue to expand their drug empire, working with street legends "Snaps" and "Pop" and Italian mob boss Stefano Marchetti, all while a resurrected "Unique" is working in the shadows, looking for vengeance against those he believes wronged him. In season four, slates have seemingly been wiped clean for Kanan, Raq, and the rest of the Thomas family. Kanan's drug business has hit its stride; Lou has cleansed himself of his demons; the Federal Task Force case against Marvin has become shrouded by Howard's corruption; and Jukebox has chosen a new path away from home, however Unique is alive and he's more volatile and violent than ever setting the stage for a dangerous and action packed season.
The premiere episode of Power Book III: Raising Kanan is now streaming on Starz.
