The hit series, The Equalizer, is back for season 5, and this season promises to be the best yet as Queen Latifah's Robyn McCall and her team continue to deliver her own brand of justice as a vigilante to those who deserve it while compassionately helping those who need her help. The fifth season debuts tonight on CBS at 9:30 pm EST, with the first episode titled "The Lost Ones." After the two premier episodes, the series shifts to its regular time at 9 pm starting Sunday, November 3.

Created by Michael Sloan and Richard Lindheim, The Equalizer first premiered on CBS in February 2021. It is a reboot of the classic 80s series, which ran on CBS from 1985 to 1989, with Edward Woodward in the lead, as Robert McCall. Robyn has now taken on the mantle, a former CIA operative determined to use her extensive skills to help those with nowhere to run in New York City. At first glance, McCall comes across to most as an average single mom quietly raising her teenage daughter. But to a trusted few, she is "The Equalizer" - an anonymous guardian angel and defender of the downtrodden, who's also dogged in her pursuit of personal redemption.

The series stars:

  • Queen Latifah as Robyn McCall

  • Lorraine Toussaint as Viola “Aunt Vi” Marsett

  • Tory Kittles as Marcus Dante

  • Adam Goldberg as Harry Keshegian

  • Liza Lapira as Melody “Mel” Bayani

  • Laya DeLeon Hayes as Delilah

  • Jennifer Ferrin as Avery Grafton

  • Donal Logue as Colton Fisk

Season 5 is the most anticipated season after the bitter sweet finale in season 4, which saw Mel leave the team after her kidnapping and Tory leave New York City bound for California. Fans were left wondering what would become of the team and Robyn's personal life, especially when Aunt Viv and her daughter Delilah finally learned the truth and found out what Robyn really does for a living! That revelation is sure to add another level of drama and complication to Robyn's life.

Latifah continues to shine as the charismatic lead with a heart of gold who is loyal, sincere, and willing to help just about anyone who needs it. She's tough as nails and will never back down from a challenge. Very few series showcases African American women leading the action, and Latifah's star power more than delivers, bringing a level of authenticity needed for the role as The Equalizer is also an adaption of Denzel Washington's movies of the same name.

At the start of the new season, Robyn wastes no time springing into action. The premiere episode sees Robyn racing to rescue siblings who run into trouble after stealing a grocery truck carrying firearms. Meanwhile, Harry and Delilah help Mel through her trauma after her kidnapping.
