Prime Video's Sterling Point Delivers Romance, Family Secrets and Endless Summer Drama

Love triangles, long buried secrets, shocking scandals, and life becoming completely overwhelming... whether you lived through all that or not, it's certainly entertaining to watch.
That's exactly the kind of emotional roller coaster waiting in Prime Video's new coming of age drama Sterling Point. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, the eight episode series premieres Wednesday, August 5, with every episode dropping at once, making it an easy summer binge. Created by Megan Park (The Fallout, My Old Ass) alongside co-showrunners Josh Schwartz and Stephanie Savage, Sterling Point has all the ingredients of an addictive young adult drama.
The series follows 17-year-old New Yorker Annie Jacobson (Ella Rubin), whose life takes an unexpected turn after she and her adopted brother, Connor (Keen Ruffalo), inherit a small lakeside property known as Sterling Point from the estranged grandfather they barely knew. If inheriting an island in Canada wasn't surprising enough, the real drama begins when Annie arrives. When she arrives at Sterling Point, Annie uncovers a web of hidden family secrets that changes everything she thought she knew about her past. Her late mother had another child which no one ever told her about. It doesn't get much soapier than that, and that's part of what makes the series so much fun.
As Annie searches for answers, she's also has to navigate new friendships, unexpected romances, complicated relationships, and the uncertainty that comes with trying to figure out who she really is. Every episode adds another layer of twists and bombshells but beneath the twists is a heartfelt coming of age story about identity, family, forgiveness, and finding where you belong.
Leading the series is Ella Rubin, who's absolutely fantastic and brings warmth and vulnerability to Annie's journey. She is joined by an impressive yong ensemble that includes Amélie Hoeferle as Ramona, Bo Bragason as Oona, Jacob Whiteduck-Lavoie as Ellis, Daniel Quinn-Toye as Rory, Jay Duplass as Steven, Missi Pyle as Denise Ballantine, and Jeffrey Dean Morgan as Joe.
While Sterling Point embraces many of the beloved YA tropes, it also grounds its story in genuine emotion making it the perfect summer binge.
