Laid is the hilarious new comedy that will premiere on Peacock on December 19 with 8 half-hour episodes. Based on the Australian television series of the same name, the American comedy stars Oscar nominee Stephanie Hsu as Ruby, a woman who finds out her former lovers are dying in unusual ways and must go back through her sex timeline with her best friend AJ to confront her past to move forward.
Created and executive produced by Nahnatchka Khan and Sally Bradford McKenna, production companies include Universal Television and All3Media International.

The series stars:
Stephanie Hsu as Ruby
Zosia Mamet as AJ
Michael Angarano as Richie
Tommy Martinez as Isaac
Guest Stars include:
Andre Hyland
Olivia Holt
David Denman
Finneas O’Connell
Chloe Fineman
Ettore “Big E” Ewen
John Early

Ruby is cursed! Not really, but it sure looks that way when all her previous exes she had sex with end up dying for no inexplicable reason. Worse, she finally... possibly meets her prince charming in Isaac, but she must figure out why the Grim Reaper is targeting her exes before the same fate awaits her new beau. There has to be a logical reason, and when her first ex dies, one she barely remembers, it's time for self-analysis. Ruby has to take a hard look at herself to see if she's the problem, especially when the 30-something hopeless romantic is searching for true love.
A lot of cool cameos in the form of her exes (we won't spoil them!) liven up the comedy when they confront Ruby with some hard truths about herself. It's a race against time to figure out why this keeps happening so she can save her remaining exes, especially the one she's crushing on, if she can get her happily ever after.
The chemistry between Hsu and Mamet makes the series pop, making you fully engrossed in their hijinks, especially when Mamet's AJ is all too eager to put her "Nancy Drew" skills to the test to solve the mystery. Hsu, best known for Everything Everywhere All At Once, is perfect in the role, with a compelling presence fully layered in this sharp-witted comedy.
The series is funny, quirky, and culturally appealing. Ending on a cliffhanger, the series impressively paves the way for a second season.
