Prime Video is gearing up for another major original series, and this time it’s bringing together two powerhouse performers for what looks like one of the most entertaining shows of the summer. The streamer has officially announced that Ride or Die, the upcoming action-comedy starring and executive produced by Octavia Spencer and Hannah Waddingham, will premiere globally on July 15.

The eight-episode series follows best friends Debbie Claybourne (Octavia Spencer) and Judith Burton (Hannah Waddingham) who thought they knew everything about each other, except Judith turns out to be an international assassin. When a mysterious figure emerges from Judith’s past and a hit goes horribly wrong, both of their worlds are turned upside down as they’re forced to go on the run together. It’s a race against time and a road trip across Europe, with law enforcement, highly trained assassins, and some very dangerous criminals at their heels.

The supporting cast is equally impressive, featuring Bill Nighy, Ed Skrein, Sylvia Hoeks, Calam Lynch, Savannah Steyn, Jamie Parker, and Jacky Ido. With that lineup, the series already has the feel of a stylish ensemble action comedy in the making.

The show also has major creative talent attached. Ride or Die was created by Tessa Coates, with Matt Miller serving as showrunner and Peyton Reed directing.

The first-look images teases glamorous European settings, action sequences, and plenty of chaotic energy between its leads. Ride or Die is quickly shaping up to be one of Prime Video's most anticipated premieres of the year.

All eight episodes arrive July 15 exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
