Making its broadcast debut tonight is Finding Faith, Lifetime's latest faith-based movie starring Paula Patton as Faith, a woman suddenly struck by the sudden death of her husband, and spirals out of control, losing her trust in God. With the unwavering support of her family, pastor, and close friends, Faith starts to find her way out of the darkness and into the light, rebuilding her life one step at a time.
This is the fourth film in Lifetime's faith-based movies, "centered on women facing unfathomable circumstances who use their faith to lead them through".
Produced, written, and directed by LazRael Lison, the movie takes you through a powerful gamut of emotions led by the powerful acting of Patton and Loretta Devine, Stephen Bishop, Nadine Velazquez, Demetrius Grosse, and Keith David, who also star in the film in supporting roles.
Sharing her personal challenges on the third hour of Today's Thursday, August 7, broadcast, Patton, who is seven years sober, shared her personal journey with faith, crediting her 15-year-old son, Julian, who has been instrumental in her sobriety. Recalling the moment she learned she would be starring in the movie, she shared the sense of peace that washed over her, believing God and the universe were speaking to her, as Faith's journey in the film very much mirrored her own life.

Beautifully written, the film illustrates how grief can lead to isolation, testing the strongest beliefs, however with the support of loved ones, you can overcome the deepest of despairs and rise above with courage. Highly relatable, the film narrates that there are no easy answers, but it powerfully captures heartfelt emotions through themes of compassion and redemption, delivering a powerful message that peels back the layers of insurmountable grief showing us that faith can be restored.
Finding Faith premieres Saturday, August 9, 8/7c exclusively on Lifetime.
