There are very few characters from the hit horror series FROM who have transformed as dramatically and as effectively as David Alpay's Jade Herrera. When audiences first met Jade in season one, he felt almost impossible to like. He was arrogant, impatient, self-absorbed, and carried the kind of chaotic energy that made you wonder whether he would survive long enough to become important. He treated the nightmare around him almost like an inconvenience, convinced that his intelligence alone could crack the mystery. Then something unexpected happened. Jade became the heart of the puzzle.

What makes his evolution so compelling is that the series allows Jade to grow through trauma, loss, and the weight of understanding pieces of a mystery that nobody else can fully see. Rather than suddenly turning him into a heroic figure, the show stripped away his defenses one layer at a time. By later seasons, Jade is still sarcastic. He is still impulsive. He is still capable of spiraling into frustration. But underneath that bravado is someone audiences now recognize as deeply human.

Alpay deserves enormous credit for making that transition feel natural by preserving the core of who Jade always was while exposing what was hidden underneath: fear, vulnerability, grief, and even compassion. In season one, Jade was fighting for himself. Current Jade is fighting for everyone.

That shift has become one of FROM's strongest emotional anchors. Perhaps what makes it even more satisfying is realizing that the clues were there all along. We sat with the magnetic Alpay to discuss his evolution from season one, fan reaction, the Man in Yellow, and what viewers can expect from his character during a highly entertaining, unpredictable, and nail-biting season.

The sixth episode of FROM, titled "The Heart Is a Lonely Hunter," will continue to keep viewers on the edge of their seats, and it takes a one-week hiatus, airing on May 31 at 9:00 p.m. ET on MGM+. Stay tuned to MGM+ every Sunday through the season finale dropping on June 28, 2026.
