Fans of The Walking Dead Universe have something to look forward to as AMC Networks announced that the series will debut on Sunday, September 29, at 9pm ET/PT on AMC and AMC+. Although the new debut date is later than expected, it was chosen to ensure the highest quality production.

The upcoming season will feature the reunion of long-time friends Daryl and Carol, portrayed by Norman Reedus and Melissa McBride. Their reunion is expected to be a major highlight of the season.

The previous season ended with a tantalizing cliffhanger, hinting at Carol's return as she retrieved Daryl's crossbow and set out in search to find him.

According to the show's official synopsis, the new season picks up where The Walking Dead: Daryl Dixon left off, following fan-favorite characters Daryl Dixon (Reedus) and Carol Peletier (McBride). They both confront old demons while she fights to find her friend, and he struggles with his decision to stay in France, causing tension at the Nest. Additionally, Genet (Anne Charrier) 's movement builds momentum, setting Pouvoir on a violent collision course with the Union of Hope in the fight for France's future.

The Walking Dead Universe is more alive than ever, with "Daryl Dixon" already renewed for season 3. Another spin-off, "Dead City," set in the same universe and starring Jeffrey Dean Morgan and Laura Cohan, is currently filming its second season.

Fans are hopeful for another season of "The Ones Who Live," which shattered ratings expectations earlier this year and starred Andrew Lincoln and Danai Gurira.

The first season of "Daryl Dixon" is currently streaming on AMC and AMC+.
