Damon Wayans returns to sitcom comedy in "Poppa's House"

Damon Wayans returns to TV and stars in CBS's all-new hilarious sitcom along with Damon Wayans Jr. in "Poppa's House." The father-and-son duo series premiered on CBS on October 21, 2024.

Damon Wayans, the multi-talented actor, producer, and writer best known for "Saturday Night Live," and "My Wife and Kids," including a string of hit movies throughout his career, stars as Poppa, a happily divorced talk-radio host who unwillingly has to put up with his new female co-host, Dr. Ivy Reed who challenges him at work, while still parenting his adult son, Damon. Damon moves in next door with his family and turns Poppa's peaceful world upside down. The result is a wholesome family series of entertainment and genuine laughs as the series follows Poppa's relationships with his new co-host and son.

Created by Damon Wayans and Kevin Hench, Poppa's House is executive produced by Wayans and Wayans Jr, Kevin Hench, Andy Ackerman, Dean Lorey, and Michael Petok. Producers Dave Neglia, Kameron Tarlow, and Chris Arrington with production companies Hench in the Trench Productions, NuSystems Productions, Inc., Two Shakes Entertainment, and CBS Studios.

CBS has struck comedic gold with the father and son duo, and the cast has excellent chemistry, drawing viewers from all backgrounds. Wayans Sr. is once again in his familial element, shining as he did with "My Wife and Kids." The relationships between Damon and Nina are equally compelling as Damon strives to be a good father and husband while seeking quality advice from Poppa, who's always ready to dispense sage advice with humor and tons of laughs. The series is highly entertaining, evoking nostalgic feelings of early 90's sitcoms with laugh tracks and blooper reels that make you want to tune in every week.
