CBS' "Beyond The Gates" adds additional star power with soap vet Jordi Vilasuso

Following the exciting announcement of Greg Vaughan joining the cast of CBS' soap opera, Beyond the Gates, the sudser has decided to give the gift that keeps on giving by adding yet another beloved soap vet to its roster for Season 2, which is set to premiere on January 2, 2026.

Emmy winner Jordi Vilasuso is the latest heathrob to join the cast, confirmed by Soap Opera Digest. The veteran actor began his career on CBS' Guiding Light, playing fan favorite Tony Santos in 2000, and later earned the Daytime Emmy Award for Outstanding Younger Actor in a Drama Series in 2003. Since then, Vilasuso has appeared in several other soaps, solidifying his status as one of the beloved vets in the soap community. His notable roles include All My Children, Days of Our Lives, and, most recently, CBS's The Young and the Restless as Rey Rosales from 2018-2022.

Fans, excited about the announcement, have already begun speculating that he may be related to Alex Alegria's Tomas Navarro, the ambitious lawyer at Bill Hamilton's (Timon Kyle Durrett) firm, who is currently dating Kat Richardson (Colby Muhammad). If true, this direction will undoubtedly open up a wealth of possibilities by expanding the Hispanic family tree. There has been no official confirmation of Vilasuso's storyline, but per the first-look promo provided by CBS, what has been revealed so far is that he will interact with Jen Jacob's Ashley in a scene taking place at Uptown.

Beyond the Gates is the groundbreaking new series that premiered on February 24. Set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C, the series focuses on the Duprees, "a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty."

The series is created and executive-produced by Michele Val Jean. Additional executive producers are Ducksworth, Julie Carruthers, Tracey Thompson, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Kimberly Doebereiner, and Anna Saalfeld.

Beyond The Gates airs weekdays at 2 pm EST on CBS, with full episodes available to stream on Paramount+ and the CBS app.
