Fans of the hit Daytime soap opera can breathe a huge sigh of relief as CBS officially announced the daytime serial was renewed for a second season on May 12. The news came after weeks of speculation and growing anxiety as the television landscape saw major shakeups from several networks that chose not to renew several shows. Beyond The Gates was not one of them, as the new serial boasts impressive numbers, beating its predecessor, The Talk, and captivating Daytime audiences. News of the renewal swiftly lit social media on fire as fans celebrated their beloved soap.
The groundbreaking new series, which premiered on February 24, is the first new soap opera since NBC debuted Passions in 1999. The series is part of CBS Daytime's dynamic lineup, alongside The Young and The Restless and The Bold and The Beautiful. It finds itself in excellent company as the other two soaps have maintained the number 1 and 2 spots, respectively. Along with Let's Make a Deal and The Price is Right, the lineup averages 2.76 million viewers, making it the most-watched daytime network for an impressive 39 consecutive seasons.

Several members of the cast and crew took to social media to express their gratitude, led by Showrunner and creator Michele Val Jean, who shared on X, "Congratulations to every single member of my #BeyondTheGates family. You did this! And special thanks to George Cheeks and CBS for believing in the dream. #BTG#SecondSeason". Actress Tamara Tunie, who plays matriarch Anita Dupree, also took to Instagram to express her gratitude, along with actors Mike Manning, Colby Natasha Muhammad, Brandon Claybon, Jen Jacobs, Ambyr Michelle, Daphnée Duplaix, and many others sharing their excitement.
Beyond The Gates is set in a leafy Maryland suburb just outside of Washington, D.C, and focuses on the Duprees, "a powerful and prestigious multi-generational family that is the very definition of Black royalty." The series has seen a 48% increase in broadcast viewership in its time slot, with a 67% rise in multiplatform viewership compared to last year. Additionally, it has outperformed ABC's General Hospital by 7% in key demographics among women aged 25-54, making the collaboration between CBS Studios, the NAACP Venture, and P&G Studios a huge success.
The series is created and executive-produced by Michele Val Jean. Additional executive producers are Ducksworth, Julie Carruthers, Tracey Thompson, Leon W. Russell, Derrick Johnson, Kimberly Doebereiner, and Anna Saalfeld.
Beyond The Gates airs weekdays at 2 pm EST on CBS, with full episodes available to stream on Paramount+ and the CBS app.
