Daniel Dae Kim stars in Prime Video's latest espionage thriller, "Butterfly," a high stakes action series that premiered on August 13 with six episodes. Based on the Boom! Studios graphic novel of the same name created by Arash Amel and Marguerite Bennett, and adapted for television by Ken Woodruff and Steph Cha, the series centers on Kim who also serves as excutive producer, as David Jung, an enigmatic, highly unpredictable former US intelligence operative living in South Korea, whose life is blown to pieces when the consequences of an impossible decision from his past come back to haunt him. He finds himself pursued by a deadly, sociopathic young agent assigned to kill him by the sinister spy organization she works for.
The series already has social media buzzing, with fans hopeful for Season 2 following the intense finale that ended in major heartbreak (no spoilers!), setting the stage for explosive ramifications. "Butterfly" boasts an impressive Korean cast that includes Reina Hardesty, Kim Tae-hee, Park Hae-soo, Nayoon Kim, Kim Ji-hoon, Sung Dong-il, Lee Il-hwa, with Charles Parnell, Sean Dulake, Louis Landau, and Piper Perabo.

"Butterfly" is a captivating series that fires on all cylinders, delivering explosive action with emotional impact, featuring intriguing twists and turns. The cinematography is beautifully choreographed, set against the visually stunning backdrop of Seoul, providing gritty realism.
When asked about the possibility of a second season in an interview with TV Insider, Kim remained optimistic, "I have lots of hopes for it. I hope there is a second season, first of all. But what I like about the show is that we're already establishing that it's an international show so it makes the world our oyster. We could go anywhere. And given the nature of what David and Rebecca do, you could see them traveling. You could see them settling somewhere else."
