It's been over two years since Season 3 of Netflix's hit fantasy series "The Witcher" graced our screens, and sans negative reviews and review bombing, the new season is fantastic. The fourth season premiered on October 30 with all eight episodes, introducing Liam Hemsworth as the new Geralt of Rivia, famously played by Henry Cavill, alongside Yennefer and Ciri. The fifth season will be the final season, wrapping up the medieval saga of Geralt and his companions.

The series is based on the book and video game series of the same name by author Andrzej Sapkowski, and the fourth season focuses on Baptism of Fire, set in the fictional landmass known as the Continent. After the Continent-altering events of Season Three, Geralt, Yennefer, and Ciri find themselves separated by a raging war and countless enemies. As their paths diverge, and their goals sharpen, they stumble on unexpected allies eager to join their journeys. And if they can accept these found families, they just might have a chance at reuniting for good.

The series boasts an impressive cast with Laurence Fishburne joining the Continent as Regis, a mysterious barber surgeon.

Speaking with Netflix's Tudum, creator and showrunner Lauren Schmidt Hissrich revealed her excitement for the fourth and final season. "We're thrilled to be able to bring Andrzej Sapkowski's books to an epic and satisfying conclusion. It wouldn't be our show if we didn't push our family of characters to their absolute limit — stay tuned to see how the story ends."

Season 5 has already wrapped filming, shot back to back with Season 4, and includes The Tower of the Swallow and Lady of the Lake.

The fourth season of "The Witcher" is exclusively streaming on Netflix, with all previous seasons available.
