New York City Comic Con (NYCC) once again took over Manhattan at its annual global event at the iconic Javits Center this past weekend. Networks dazzled with sweeping announcements of your favorite movies and television shows, and fans of sci-fi, fantasy, and horror brought their enthusiasm and cosplays to the four-day event, featuring exciting panels, celebrity appearances, exclusive merchandise, and immersive fan experiences across comics, gaming, movies and television.
The exciting con ran from Thursday, October 9 and will conclude today, celebrating blockbuster announcements and exclusive sneak peeks at upcoming projects. Notably, Marvel Studios and AMC came out swinging with some major announcements that left social media in flames!
Let's start with Disney. With over a dozen new projects debuting in theaters and on Disney+, the franchise will continue Phase 6 into 2026 with movies and sequels of its most popular series, including comic books.
Head of Marvel Television and Animation Brad Winderbaum showcased some of Marvel's new and returning TV shows. Marvel Animation kicked things off, showcasing exclusive footage of Season 2 Your Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, which will find Peter Parker once again fighting familiar foes.
Creators Eric and Julia Lewald of "X-Men: The Animated Series" confirmed that they will be returning as executive producers for "X-Men '97 ." Season 2 is set to debut on Disney+ in Summer 2026 and Season 3 is in development.
Stars Charlie Cox and Krysten Ritter teased Season 2 of Daredevil: Born Again. Cox shared details about the ongoing rivalry between Matt Murdock and Wilson Fisk, which will continue in season 2.
Paul Bettany shared details on his new series, Vision Quest, which will conclude the third and final chapter in the MCU trilogy that kicked off with WandaVision and Agatha: All Along. The new series will also premiere on Disney+ next year.
The new Disney+ series Wonder Man will debut on January 27, 2026, and stars Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Sir Ben Kingsley who shared an exclusive look at the new series.
On the AMC front, the ever-expanding and vibrant world of Anne Rice's Vampire novels introduces a new series, Talamasca: The Secret Order, and follows a secret society that monitors supernatural beings. The cast and creatives were on hand to share details about the new series, which will premiere on October 26 exclusively on AMC and AMC+ with the first two of its six episodes.
Next up is the connected series in Anne Rice's universe, The Vampire Lestat. "The Woman King" star Sheila Atim was confirmed to be Akasha, Queen of the Damned, and fans across social media erupted in positive reaction to the news eagerly anticipating Season 3, which follows the ever eccentric Lestat starting a rock and roll band and going on tour, joined by characters Gabrielle, Nicholas, Magnus, and Marius. They join Louis, Armand, Molloy, Sam, Raglan, and Fareed. The panel on hand were executive producers Mark Johnson and Hannah Moscovitch, cast members Sam Reid, Jacob Anderson, Eric Bogosian, Jennifer Ehle and Assad Zaman.
In other announcements, the highly anticipated spinoff of "Game of Thrones," A Knight of the Seven Kingdoms will premiere on HBO MAX on January 18. It will be the third television series in George R. R. Martin's A Song of Ice and Fire franchise adapted from Tales of Dunk and Egg novellas.

Cross
Aldis Hodge returns as Alex Cross for Season 2. The series is Based on the Alex Cross novels by James Patterson, and follows Cross hunting down a serial killer going after corrupt billionaires. Season two premieres exclusively on Prime Video on February 11.
Mercy
Chris Pratt and Rebecca Ferguson star in the AI centric thriller Mercy. The movie follows a detective who stands on trial accused of murdering his wife. He has 90 minutes to prove his innocence to an advanced A.I. judge. The movie premieres in theaters on January 23.
