The Wrecking Crew, starring Jason Momoa and Dave Bautista as estranged half-brothers, is the action movie you didn't know you needed.

After their father's mysterious death, the brothers reunite in search of the truth, having been estranged for twenty years, where buried secrets reveal a conspiracy threatening to tear their family apart. Expectations aside, viewers can expect a thrilling ride, especially with Bautista, one of the most renowned retired wrestlers, who has carved out quite a niche for himself and transitioned into a successful acting career, most notably as Drax in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and in more serious films like Parachute. Here, he plays James Hale, a Navy Commander and devoted family man, who is disciplined in the face of his younger brother Jonny, played by Momoa, a beer-guzzling, loveable brute, spontaneous, and living in Oklahoma, always ready for a fight.
Jonny has an axe to grind, filled with personal loss and trauma, which has led to a lot of brotherly resentment. When the personalities of these two characters clash in Honolulu, you have a roller coaster of action-packed scenes, humor, and emotional undertones, with a lot of butt-kicking, which both Bautista and Momoa excel at. The result is a highly entertaining, wisecracking adventure filled with witty banter and thrills.

Jonny's girlfriend, Valentina (Morena Baccarin), who is tired of Jonny's immature antics but can never quite quit him, adds to the fun. When the plot shifts to protecting James' family, all bets are off as the stakes rise and the truth comes to light. The supporting cast includes Jacob Batalon, Claes Bang, Temuera Morrison, Frankie Adams, Miyavi, and Stephen Root, all of whom are just as entertaining and round out the cast.
The film features several twists that are actually quite enjoyable. Written by Jonathan Tropper and directed by Ángel Manuel Soto, the film keeps its pulse on the film and plays to the strengths of each actor. He keeps the high-octane action sequences running on a full tank of gas, playing to the official synopsis:
"Together, they are ready to WRECK anything that gets in their way."
Set in Hawaii (a location that has become a signature for Momoa), the film currently boasts an impressive 81 percent rating on Rotten Tomatoes and immediately climbed to the top of the charts since its debut, currently holding the #2 spot. It's easy to see why: the chemistry between Bautista and Momoa is marked by their magnetic alpha dominance, making it a must-see heading into the weekend.
The Wrecking Crew is produced by Amazon MGM Studios and is now streaming exclusively on Prime Video.
