If you're looking for a different way to celebrate New Year's Eve aside from the festive Holiday celebrations, cozy up with a bowl of popcorn and check out the highly acclaimed supernatural thriller "Together."
Premiering tonight on Hulu after its debut at the Sundance Film Festival and a successful theatrical run earlier this year, which grossed $32.3 million at the box office, the film follows Tim and Millie, a longtime couple portrayed by real-life husband and wife Dave Franco and Alison Brie, who move to the country, leaving everything behind except each other. While tensions grow, an encounter with an unnatural force threatens to corrupt their love and their flesh.
Directed by Michael Shanks in his feature debut, the film also stars Damon Herriman, Jack Kenny, Karl Richmond, and Sunny S. Walia, with Mia Morrissey rounding out its supporting cast.
"Together" is a brilliantly crafted film that highlights the fantastic chemistry between Dave Franco and Alison Brie as on-screen partners. Their chemistry feels natural, grounding the story in emotional authenticity. The film masterfully blends intense body horror and supernatural elements, delivering genuine jump scares while balancing dark humor, romance, and tension.
The thought-provoking ending invites viewers to reflect on relationships and the concept of metaphorical co-dependency, setting it apart from conventional horror films that often rely too much on shock value and gimmicks.
Simply put, "Together" is one of the best horror films of the modern era.
