It's been almost two years, but finally, the highly acclaimed western drama 1923 returns for its second and final season exclusively on Paramount+ on February 23. Starring Harrison Ford and Helen Mirren, the series is a prequel to the hugely popular Yellowstone and a sequel to 1883 released in 2021, helmed by the prolific Sheridan Taylor, who gave us binge-worthy hits such as Lioness (personal fav), Landman, Tulsa King and Mayor of Kingstown. The new season comes with eight episodes and new episodes will be released every Sunday through its series finale on April 13.
The series follows the origin story of the Dutton family with patriarch and matriarch Jacob and Cara Dutton in 1923, decades before the events of "Yellowstone" in the early twentieth century when pandemics, historic drought, the end of Prohibition, and the Great Depression all plagued the mountain west. The second season of 1923 picks up after the tantalizing cliffhanger of season 1 that saw the Duttons fighting for their ranch. The official synopsis reveals that a cruel winter brings new challenges and unfinished business to Jacob and Cara at Dutton ranch. With harsh conditions and adversaries threatening to end the Dutton legacy, Spencer embarks on an arduous journey home, racing against time to save his family in Montana. Meanwhile, Alexandra sets off on her own harrowing trans-Atlantic journey to find Spencer and reclaim their love.
