The circle of Life continues! In honor of The Lion King’s 30th Anniversary, “The Lion King at the Hollywood Bowl” celebrated the legacy of “The Lion King” in a concert special that premiered exclusively on Disney+ on Friday, February 7, 2025.
The spectacular event, which took place on two nights on May 24 and 25, 2024, paid homage to the 1994 Academy Award-winning animated classic and dazzled with epic performances with a massive 70-person orchestra, fireworks, professional dancers, and award-winning costumes from the iconic Broadway productions, giving viewers a front-row seat at the musical extravaganza celebrating the world of “The Lion King.”

The Hollywood Bowl transformed into the Pride Lands, featuring a reunion of the original voice cast with performances by cast members of the iconic Broadway show. One of the absolute highlights was Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, Ernie Sabella, and Jason Weaver (who voiced Scar, Timon, Pumbaa, and Young Simba) returning for a rendition of the fan-favorite Hakuna Matata, which brought out the nostalgia for original fans and will surely make new ones with the iconic vocal performances.
Directed by Paul Dugdale and produced by Disney Concerts, Fulwell 73 Productions, AMP Worldwide, and Live Nation-Hewitt Silva, the concert brought together the talented ensemble performances of Lebo M, Jeremy Irons, Nathan Lane, Jason Weaver, Ernie Sabella, and Billy Eichner. Heather Headley, Bradley Gibson, and special guest stars North West with EGOT superstar Jennifer Hudson headlined the event.
If you missed the premier event on February 7. You can still catch the once in a lifetime event streaming now on Disney+.
