"The Librarian: The Next Chapter" continues with exciting new adventures

The highly anticipated and newest installment of The Librarian franchise, The Librarian: The Next Chapter, debuted exclusively on TNT with a two part premiere on Sunday, May 25 and Monday, May 26 taking up the mantle from the original series, which carried 4 seasons (2014- 2018) on TNT and three previous television films starring Noah Wylie as Flynn Carsen who protected a secret collection of magical artifacts, protecting the world from evil entities. The new series will carry 12 episodes, releasing new episodes every Monday through its finale on August 4, 2025.

In case you've never seen any of the previous installments, you missed out on quite the adventure! The Librarians are an ancient organization dedicated to protecting the world through fantasy and magic, and the new series follows a new group of librarians led by Vikram Chamberlain (Callum McGowan), who time-traveled from 1847 and now finds himself trapped in the present. When Vikram returns to his castle in Belgrade, Serbia, and discovers that it is now a museum, he inadvertently releases magic across the continent. With the help of a new team of eclectic heroes, Vikram has only six months to clean up the mess he made.

The series is created and executive produced by Dean Devlin, with Wyle, Marc Roskin, and Rachel Olschan-Wilson also serving as executive producers. In addition to McGowan, the series stars Jessica Green (The Outpost), Olivia Morris (Hotel Portofino), and Bluey Robinson (Britannia). In addition, Caroline Loncq (Mammals).

Fans can look forward to a few crossovers from the original The Librarian franchise, including Christian Kane's return as fan-favorite Jacob Stone.

With new librarians come new mythical adventures, making the series highly entertaining while providing different backstories for each character. As our heroes come together to battle new monsters and villains, each episode becomes more thrilling than the next. McGowan exudes the same charming energy as Wyle before him, anchoring the series with a magnetic presence. The cinematography in the new season stands out from its previous installments, capturing the stunning architecture of Belgrade, Serbia, filled with beautiful scenery and historical landscapes that invoke centuries-old mythology, infused with modern magic and a touch of enchantment and lore from the past.  

The Librarian: The Next Chapter is a great addition to the franchise, offering thrills and nostalgia for older fans, as well as cultural resonance for new ones, charting a bold path forward with the potential to expand the franchise.
