A&E's hit crime and investigation series "Homicide Squad New Orleans", chronicling the harrowing work of New Orleans PD homicide detectives, returned for its second season on July 17, 2025.
Produced by Wolf Entertainment and 44 Blue Productions for A&E with Dick Wolf serving as executive producer, the series is a spinoff of "The First 48," which focused on the first 48 hours of police investigations in different cities. Here, the series focuses exclusively on the detectives within the New Orleans Police Department homicide unit, many of whom are natives of the legendary city. United against the odds, these men and women work tirelessly to safeguard their streets and protect their city and home. Each episode focuses on a new case as the team is tasked with piecing together evidence to catch the perpetrator, find answers for the victims' loved ones, and keep their community safe.
Giving viewers an inside look into the intricacies of how they solve cases, each one hour long episode focuses on a different murder case. The series offers viewers a glimpse into the reality of police work without the glamor of a scripted procedural, but the painstaking honesty in which cops attempt to solve cases through trial and error, scene canvassing, witness interviews, surveillance videos, and dealing with uncooperative witnesses.
Don't miss the new season of Homicide Squad New Orleans. New episodes will be released every Thursday at 8 p.m. on A&E, with all episodes available to stream on A&E's website after initial airing.
