The highly anticipated trailer for "The Lord of The Rings: Rings of Power" debuted at San Diego Comic-Con on July 26, to thousands of excited fans eager for the second season of the series, which is set to premiere on Prime Video on August 29.
Created by J.D. Payne and Patrick McKay, the highly acclaimed eight-episode first season premiered on September 1, 2022, and was directed by J.A. Bayona, Wayne Che Yip, and Charlotte Brändström. The series was developed exclusively for Prime Video and produced by Amazon Studios in association with New Line Cinema. It is based on J. R.R Tolkien's mythical history of Middle-earth, based on the novel appendices of The Hobbit and The Lord of the Rings covering the significant events of Middle-earth's Second Age: the forging of the Rings of Power and the rise of the Dark Lord Sauron.

Led by Morfydd Clark as a younger Galadriel with Robert Aramayo as Elrond, season 1 retells the forging of the Great Rings, the Downfall of Númenor, and the founding of Mordor. In a thrilling ending to the first season, Galadriel became aware that Halbrand is Sauron, and Celebrimbor successfully created the Three Elven Rings without Halbrand's help.
The trailer for the second season promises to be bigger and better, teasing behind-the-scenes footage, the legendary Rings, magical creatures, new villains, fan favorites and Sauron's (Charlie Vickers) growing evil influence. Durin IV (Owain Arthur) rallies the dwarves to fight on the march against a rival battalion of orcs. Tom Bombadil, the classic character from the Tolkien books, also makes his debut.

In Season two of The Rings of Power, Sauron has returned. Cast out by Galadriel, without an army or ally, the rising Dark Lord must now rely on his own cunning to rebuild his strength and oversee the creation of the Rings of Power, which will allow him to bind all the peoples of Middle-earth to his sinister will. Building on Season One's epic scope and ambition, the new season plunges even its most beloved and vulnerable characters into a rising tide of darkness, challenging each to find their place in a world that is increasingly on the brink of calamity. As friendships are strained and kingdoms begin to fracture, the forces of good—Elves and dwarves, orcs and men, wizards and Harfoots—will struggle ever more valiantly to hold on to what matters to them most of all: each other.
