The Day of the Jackal is a fantastic update to the originals and stays true to the original premise. Both Redmayne and Lynch are captivating in their roles as the narrative is told from both perspectives. Lynch, best known for her roles in No Time to Die, Captain Marvel, and The Woman King, is no stranger to the character she plays and shines as the hard-nosed agent obsessed with tracking The Jackal down. Redmayne best known for the Fantastic Beasts film series, is extremely charismatic as he plays The Jackal with a stealth performance.
There are plenty of action sequences that keep viewers on the edge of their seats as the intensity rise when the stakes get higher, heightening the suspense with intrigue. We should not root for The Jackal when he's tasked with a particular assignment, but we are. The cinematography is beautiful, with breathtaking European locales peppered throughout the series that adds layers of authenticity.
The Day of the Jackal is highly entertaining with both Redmayne and Lynch bring their A games to this thrilling series.
