Tamera Mowry-Housley Is Checking Into ‘Scrubs’ Season 2

Tamera Mowry-Housley is heading to Sacred Heart, and Scrubs fans are about to get another familiar face in the mix. The beloved actress is joining the ABC comedy’s second season as a guest star, bringing her own brand of warmth and humor to the hospital chaos.
Mowry-Housley will play Dr. Steffie, a pediatrician who takes an interest in Dr. Sam “Tosh” Tosh, played by Ava Bunn. Steffie sees something in Tosh and encourages her to consider a future in pediatrics, which could give the younger doctor a whole new direction as she continues finding her footing.
And if you know Scrubs, you already know career advice at Sacred Heart is probably never as simple as, “Here’s what you should do.” Between the medical cases, workplace chaos, friendships, questionable decisions, and plenty of unexpected laughs, even the most straightforward conversation can turn into something completely different.
The actress, best known for her hit series Sister, Sister, which first ran on ABC as part of its TGIF lineup, is no stranger to television movies, drama, and family entertainment, and fans who grew up watching her know just how naturally she can bring comedy and personality to a role. Now she gets to add a doctor’s coat to the résumé.
Season 2 also gives fans more of the characters they already know and love. Zach Braff returns as J.D., Donald Faison is back as Turk, and Sarah Chalke returns as Elliot, while the new generation of doctors continues to make its mark. Bunn’s Tosh, in particular, has an opportunity to step further into the spotlight as the revival continues developing her character.
Of course, the original Scrubs crew remains an important part of what makes the revival feel familiar, with John C. McGinley, Judy Reyes, Neil Flynn, Robert Maschio and Christa Miller among the returning cast. That mix of established favorites and newer faces gives the series plenty of room to revisit the spirit of the original while allowing the next generation to create their own stories.
Season 2 of Scrubs premieres September 30 on ABC, with episodes also available to stream on Hulu.
