Snoop Dogg made a surprise appearance to officially tease the surprise biopic at this year's Universal Pictures CinemaCon, the annual Hollywood event that runs from April 13-16.

Taking the stage with his signature charisma, Snoop Dogg, whose real name is Calvin Broadus Jr., confirmed that rising star Jonathan Daviss is set to portray him in the upcoming film, offering fans their first glimpse into what promises to be a personal and electrifying cinematic journey.

While details remain tightly under wraps, fans can expect an unfiltered look at the 17 time Grammy-nominated artist's rise from the streets of Long Beach to global superstardom. The project is expected to explore his early collaborations, including his groundbreaking work with Dr. Dre, as well as the cultural impact that cemented him as one of hip-hop's most enduring stars, from director Craig Brewer and producer Brian Grazer.

Jonathan Daviss is best known for his breakout role in Netflix's Outer Banks, and CinemaCon attendees were treated to an exclusive treat as Snoop Dog performed some of his biggest hits.

No word yet on the biopic's release date, but Snoop Dogg promised the film is not suitable for kids. "My movie is going to be rated R, I guarantee that. So get your parents' permission," he warned.
