After years of rumors, speculation, and endless memes keeping the franchise alive, DreamWorks has finally dropped the first teaser for Shrek 5, and it’s already sending social media into a frenzy. The long awaited return to Far Far Away marks the first Shrek film in over 15 years.

The teaser reunites the iconic voice cast that made the franchise legendary, with Mike Myers returning as Shrek, Eddie Murphy back as the endlessly hilarious Donkey, and Cameron Diaz reprising her role as Fiona. But the biggest surprise is Zendaya officially joins the swamp as Felicia, Shrek and Fiona’s daughter, bringing fresh new energy to the beloved franchise.

The teaser gives fans a quick glimpse into a brand new chaotic adventure, with Shrek, Fiona, Donkey, and the family finding themselves locked up, facing bizarre new enemies, and diving into a world far beyond the swamp. True to form, the teaser blends laugh out loud antics, satire, and heart that made the original films unforgettable.

Directed by franchise veterans Walt Dohrn and Conrad Vernon, the Shrek universe has already earned nearly $4 billion worldwide and this next installment feels less like a sequel and more like a cinematic event.

Shrek 5 stomps into theaters in Summer 2027.
