After 26 years of outrageous laughs, unforgettable one liners, and relentless pop culture parody, Scary Movie is back.

Directed by Michael Tiddes and written by Marlon Wayans, Shawn Wayans, Keenen Ivory Wayans, Craig Wayans, and Rick Alvarez, Scary Movie 6 has officially arrived and audiences showed up in a major way, opening to $55 million at the box office, marking the biggest opening weekend in the history of the Wayans Brothers franchise.

When the original film debuted in 2000, the Wayans family took horror movie conventions and blended them with sharp social commentary, outrageous physical comedy, and distinct Black humor that resonated with audiences, becoming an instant classic and launching one of the most successful comedy franchises of all time. Scary Movie poked fun at everything. No blockbuster was safe. No celebrity was off limits. No trend escaped parody. The films transformed the biggest moments in entertainment into hilarious comedy.

The franchise returns with the Wayans brothers at the helm and their fingerprints are all over the series' signature style. Returning are Anna Faris and Regina Hall as fan favorite duo Cindy Campbell and Brenda Meeks. The comedy is cemented by the supporting cast, featuring Kenan Thompson, Dave Sheridan, Lochlyn Munro, Carmen Electra, Kim Wayans, Cheri Oteri, Chris Elliott, and Heidi Gardner, creating an ensemble packed with familiar faces and fresh energy.

Scary Movie represents a generation of comedy that wasn't afraid to be silly. Whether spoofing horror films, celebrity culture, viral trends, streaming phenomena, or blockbuster franchises, Scary Movie acts as a comedic time capsule, continuing to satirize the entertainment industry's latest obsessions.

Twenty six years later, the formula still works. The laughs are back, the legends have reunited, and a new generation is discovering why this franchise has remained a cultural staple for more than two decades.

Scary Movie 6 is now playing in theaters.
