Eight episodes. One iconic barbershop. A whole new generation ready to talk it out.
The clippers are warming up, the chairs are filling up, and the neighborhood conversation is about to get loud again as Prime Video brings Barbershop to the small screen. Inspired by the beloved film franchise, the new comedy series will premiere all eight episodes on February 10, 2027, exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
Prime Video announced the premiere date alongside a first look at two new images from the upcoming series, offering fans a glimpse inside the next chapter of the legendary Chicago barbershop. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios, MGM Television, Hartbeat, Busy B Entertainment, Prominent Productions, and State Street Pictures, Barbershop is set to bring a fresh ensemble of personalities, plenty of laughs, and the familiar sense of community that made the original franchise such a cultural favorite.
The new series follows Travis “Trav” Walker, played by Jermaine Fowler, who returns to Chicago with hopes of carrying on his grandfather’s legacy at the iconic Calvin’s barbershop. What Trav discovers, however, is that the shop—and the city around it—has changed. As he tries to figure out where he fits in with a new generation of barbers and the loyal customers who continue to treat the shop like their second home, Trav quickly learns that keeping the doors open may be easier than keeping everyone happy.

Fowler leads a talented ensemble that includes Brett Gray, Punkie Johnson, Roy Wood Jr., E.J. Bonilla, Bresha Webb, Bokeem Woodbine, Tiana Okoye, and Langston Kerman, with an impressive lineup of guest stars joining the fun. The series will feature Zack Fox, Ego Nwodim, Diallo Riddle, Ziwe, Tituss Burgess, Comedian CP, Devon Walker, and Belmont Cameli, adding even more comedic firepower to Calvin’s already opinionated crew.
The new Barbershop comes with a strong connection to the original franchise, with Marshall Todd, co-writer of the original film, serving as an executive producer, writer, and co-showrunner. Amazon MGM Studios also executive produces the series.
Whether you have been a longtime fan of the franchise or are meeting Calvin’s crew for the first time, there is plenty of reason to pull up a chair.
The doors officially open February 10, 2027, when all eight episodes of Barbershop arrive exclusively on Prime Video.
