Maria Sten’s Reacher spinoff becomes a bona fide Prime Video hit, expanding the franchise with a formidable new hero.
Prime Video has officially renewed Neagley for a second season, giving Maria Sten’s breakout action series another round after an impressive debut that attracted 40 million viewers globally in its first 13 days. The series has also become the No. 4 most-viewed original series debut in Prime Video history and ranks among the Top 10 most-viewed seasons of any Prime Video original series to date.
With that kind of audience response, Neagley is no longer living in Jack Reacher's shadow. Produced by Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios, Neagley expands the world created by Lee Child while putting one of the franchise's most intriguing characters front and center. Sten stars as Frances Neagley, the highly skilled former military investigator and private investigator whose history with Jack Reacher goes back to their days together in the Army's 110th Special Investigations Unit.
When Neagley learns that a beloved friend from her past has died in a suspicious accident, she refuses to accept the official explanation. Drawing on the instincts, skills and experience she developed during her military career — including everything she learned alongside Reacher — she launches an investigation that pulls her into a dangerous conspiracy.
Ritchson made two cameo appearances, giving longtime fans a chance to see the close friendship between the two friends while allowing Sten's character to step firmly into her own spotlight.
For Reacher viewers, Neagley's journey has been years in the making. Sten first appeared as Frances Neagley in the flagship series, where the character quickly became an important member of Reacher's circle. Neagley gives Sten the chance to become the center of her own action-thriller, complete with a new team, new enemies, and personal stakes that go well beyond her connection to Reacher.
The ensemble includes Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph as Renee Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones as Keno, Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow and Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole.
With 40 million viewers already on board, Frances Neagley has officially earned her place in the spotlight.
Neagley Season 1 is streaming now on Prime Video.
