The streets are calling one last time.
After four unforgettable seasons of betrayal, bloodshed, and the making of a monster, Power Book III: Raising Kanan has officially returned for its fifth and final season on STARZ. The new season premeired on June 12 and will carry 8 episodes dropping new episodes every Friday.
From the very beginning, Raising Kanan has been more than just another prequel. It's been the beating heart of the Power Universe origin story. Long before Kanan Stark became the cold blooded strategist fans met in the original Power, this series gave us the blueprinhot showing exactly how pain, loyalty, betrayal, and ambition shaped him into a legend.
Raising Kanan has been a force delivering a masterful blend of family dysfunction, street politics, and emotional warfare into one of television’s most compelling crime dramas.
Mekai Curtis' performance as young Kanan has grown darker and more commanding with every season. Curtis has masterfully carried the weight of transforming a boy caught between worlds into the dangerous underground known as survival. Joining him for this final run are fan favorites London Brown, Malcolm Mays, Joey Bada$$, Hailey Kilgore, Wendell Pierce, and Erika Woods, each bringing their own fire to a season that promises to be explosive from start to finish.
This season, Kanan is no longer standing in the shadows of the adults who built the game, he’s stepping into it fully. With Southside legend Breeze now by his side, Kanan begins carving out his permanent place in Queens’ drug empire. Per the official synopsis, "Nothing will stand in the way of Kanan's pursuit of power. After all, this isn't the end for Kanan Stark. It's just the beginning." But in this world, power never comes without sacrifice. Every move creates new enemies, every alliance carries hidden danger, and every decision pushes Kanan closer to the man he is destined to become. And destiny is exactly what this season feels like.
What makes the final chapter so gripping is that we’re not just watching the end of a series; we’re witnessing the final transformation of a character whose impact is the lasting leagacy of the Power Universe. As the curtain prepares to close, the final season isn’t simply about wrapping up loose ends. It’s about cementing legacy.
Catch up on seasons 1-4 on the Starz app and Starz's streaming and on-demand platforms.
