If you haven't seen the new miniseries "All Her Fault", you're missing out on one of the best psychological thrillers to date. Created by Megan Gallagher and adapted from the novel by Andrea Mara of the same name, the series premiered exclusively on Peacock on November 6 with all eight episodes. It stars an impressive Sarah Snook (who won the much deserved Emmy for lead actress in Succession) as Marissa Irvine, an affluent mother from Chicago, who goes to pick up her son, Milo, from a playdate, only to realize he was never there. When the person who answered the door said she had never seen or heard of Milo, it marked the beginning of every mother's worst nightmare, setting off a chain of devastating events and uncovering a web of lies and deceit within Marissa's family.
As the police investigation intensifies surrounding Milo's disappearance and accusations begin to point to Marrissa, her close friend and nanny, the series masterfully weaves a complicated series of twists and turns that involve Jenny's nanny with a riveting backstory, pulsing with rising tension, and ultimately leading to a bone chilling and shocking finale that is both genuinely gut-wrenching and satisfying.
Snook's excellent performance sells the series, and in additon to Snook, the series stars Jake Lacy as Peter Irvine, Marissa's husband; Sophia Lillis as Carrie Finch; Abby Elliott as Lia Irvine; Jay Ellis as Colin Dobbs; Daniel Monks as Brian Irvine; Duke McCloud as Milo Irvine; Dakota Fanning as Jenny Kaminski; and Michael Peña as Detective Alcaras.
"All Her Fault" never feels shallow, relying on cheap gimmicks and flashy plot points. Instead, it takes its time to deliver a thoughtful thriller, weaving a rollercoaster of emotions that truly deserves our attention. The chemistry between Snook and Fanning is fantastic, showcasing genuine sisterhood. Peña is an absolute scene stealer, and Lillis, who has found her niche in horror films, is definitely one to watch.
The series is emotionally gripping, telling a complete narrative from start to finish, with each episode thoroughly engaging and immersive throughout its run.
All eight episodes of "All Her Fault" are streaming now on Peacock.
