"Paris Has Fallen" is the latest installment in the thrilling franchise

Paris Has Fallen is the latest installment in the Has Fallen cinematic franchise starting with 2013's Olympus Has Fallen, 2016's London Has Fallen, and 2019's Angel Has Fallen led by Gerard Butler. The 8 episode series stars Tewfik Jallab and Rita Arya in the leading roles, which first premiered on France's Canal+ and then in the United Kingdom on Prime Video. The series made its American debut on December 6, 2024 on Hulu.

When a terrorist group attacks a high-profile event with the French Minister of Defense as their target, protection officer Vincent Taleb (Tewfik Jallab) finds himself working with street-smart MI6 operative Zara Taylor (Ritu Arya) to save the day. But when events take a dark turn, Vincent and Zara realize that the plan extends beyond just one politician, and they suspect a mole as they race to thwart a larger conspiracy threatening Paris.

Directed by Oded Ruskin and Hans Herbots with a screenplay by Howard Overman, executive producers include Gerald Butler with production companies StudioCanal, Urban Myth Films, Millennium Media, and G-BASE.

Paris Has Fallen has all the right ingredients: intense action sequences, suspense, and thrills against the backdrop of the beautiful city of Paris, making it a terrific addition to the franchise. Following in its predecessors' footsteps in the Has Fallen franchise, the movie is full-on escapism, with Sean Harris playing the delicious villain in a role that he delivers with 100 percent commitment and Ritu Arya delivers a strong, captivating performance as the female lead. The cinematography and direction of Ruskin create a taught, atmospheric setting in which the series grounds itself in the narrative and anchors itself in Harris' villainous performance.

With Paris Has Fallen being the first series in the franchise, Paris has enough material to spawn more episodic series and create a winning formula.
