After an almost 4 year wait, Nicole Kidman is back as resort director Masha Dmitrichencko for season 2 of the critically acclaimed series "Nine Perfect Strangers." The Hulu original, based on the 2018 novel of the same name by Liane Moriarty, has moved to a new location in the snowy Austrian Alps, shifting from the Californian resort in Season 1. Originally premiering in August 2021 as a limited mini-series, the show became the most-watched original programming of all time before transitioning to an anthology format. The new season carries 8 episodes, with the first two premiering on May 21, after which new episodes will be released every Wednesday leading up to the finale on July 2.

Created by David E. Kelley with John-Henry Butterworth, the first season followed nine guests at Tranquillum House, a health and wellness resort set in a fictional town in California, promising to transform and heal their guests with hallucinogenic drugs unbeknownst to their guests, raising ethical and moral questions.  The hit series is back with nine new strangers with different backgrounds but mysteriously connected, coming together to undergo Masha's psychedelic therapy aided by former mentor Helena at a mysterious Alpine resort looking for transformative paths at betterment and happiness. During their stay, the guests partake in unconventional methods to reach their goals while Masha is forced to "confront some past demons... threatening to destroy both her own personal wellness, and that of her guests".

Season 2 delves deeper into Masha's psyche, showcasing a tour de force performance by Nicole Kidman and elevating the series with other dynamic performances by the rest of the terrific, all star-studded ensemble, peeling back the layers of their intriguing backstories. Murray Bartlett (The Last of Us, The White Lotus) and Christine Baranski (The Good Fight, The Gilded Age) are absolutely riveting. Each character gets their moment to shine, and Kidman continues her magnetic performance that is both charismatic and enigmatic. The series continues to raise ethical and moral questions led by Masha's willingness to try anything in her pursuit of emotional healing as the new batch of guests undergoes the next phase of her drug-induced treatment, revealing the truth behind Masha's experiments, elevating the stakes we get deeper into the season. With an abundance of secrets and surprising twists and turns in the last two episodes, the new season delivers and intensely dramatic finale that was well worth the wait.
