Bacon has had a long-tenured and successful career in the horror genre, and this series is no exception, as Hub has to first figure out what the heck is going on when he is suddenly killed and then unexpectedly brought back to life. This series is fun, with Bacon's leading charisma anchoring the series with perfect comedic timing that is very similar to the cult classic Ash vs Evil Dead. The series never takes itself seriously, making it even more appealing with a mix of Southern charm and country music.

One of the highlights of the series is the excellent ensemble cast and the interpersonal relationships Hub has with his mother, ex wife, and son, each adding a different layer to the series. "The Bondsman" perfectly blends action, comedy, suspense, gore, and social satire with a little bit of 90's horror nostalgia. The special effects are equally cool, delivering fun and creepy action sequences that make the series all the more entertaining.

With a great cliffhanger that was left deliberately open-ended, the series ambitiously leaves the door open for a second season. Showrunner, writer, and executive producer Erik Olesen tells Variety he already has devious plans for a second season. "I tried with the way I wrote Season 1 to make it as difficult on Amazon as possible to not give us a second season," Oleson adds. "There's a lot more story to tell in this world. We're just getting started."

All episodes of The Bondsman are currently available on Prime Video.
