"Jackpot!" wins big in Prime Video's newest comedy

Jackpot! is Amazon MGM Studios Prime Video's newest action comedy, starring John Cena (WWE wrestler, The Peacemaker) and Awkwafina (Crazy Rich Asians, The Farewell) . It premieres on August 15, 2024.

In this laugh-out-loud, hilarious comedy, a struggling actress, Katie accidentally wins the "Grand Lottery" in California in 2030. There's only one caveat: The law allows anyone with a losing ticket to murder her before sundown and legally claim her winnings, which is very reminiscent of the movie "The Purge." Enter Noel, an amateur lottery protection agent who helps to keep her alive until sunset in exchange for 10% share of her Jackpot. Chaos ensues when literally everyone, including Katie's mother, tries to kill her to get their hands on her ticket, and she continually questions Noel's motives. He enlists the help of "the biggest lottery protection agency" as a backup to protect her but the only problem is that his rival, Louis Lewis (Simu Liu), also a lottery protection agent, seeks to collect Katie's commission at all costs.

"Jackpot!" is written by Rob Yescombe and directed by Paul Feig. The producers include Joe Roth, Jeff Kirschenbaum, Paul Feig, and Laura Fischer, with John Cena, Michelle Morrissey, Rob Yescombe, and Zack Roth as executive producers.
