Fresh off his acclaimed feature film debut in Michael, Jaafar Jackson has officially landed his next major project.

The rising actor is joining Academy Award winner Will Smith in Supermax, the upcoming action thriller from director David Gordon Green. Produced by Amazon MGM Studios and Miramax, the high stakes film centers on two FBI agents investigating a murder inside the world's most secure prison. While audiences first came to know Jackson through his captivating portrayal of his legendary uncle in Michael, Supermax offers something entirely different. Instead of stepping into the shoes of a real life icon, he'll have the opportunity to showcase his versatility in an original action thriller alongside one of Hollywood's biggest stars.
The film itself already has plenty of momentum. David Gordon Green, known for crafting tense, character driven thrillers, is directing from a screenplay by David Weil and David J. Rosen. Although the filmmakers are keeping Jackson's character a closely guarded secret, that mystery only fuels anticipation.
With production gearing up and excitement continuing to build, Jackson's Hollywood journey is just getting started, and Supermax may be the film that proves his breakout was only the beginning.
